Parking / Service Fee Description

Quarterly and Annual Night Permits

Night permits are valid every weekday from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. and on Saturdays until noon in your assigned lot on main campus. Unlike Day Permits, Night Permits are available for most campus lots. You may get an out-of-area permit from any gatehouse if you need to park somewhere other than your assigned lot. Night Permits do not come with a U -PASS. All parking is on a first-come basis.

Quarterly and Annual Night Permits may be purchased by faculty, staff or students by cash, check, Visa/MasterCard or Husky Card™ Account. Additionally, Annual Night Permits may purchased by eligible faculty and staff by payroll deduction.

Permits cannot be issued if you have any outstanding UW parking violations.

Purchases must be made in person at either Commuter Services office; permit purchases cannot be made via the Web or by mail. Bring your valid Husky Card™ (UW ID card) with you when purchasing a Night Permit. You also need to know your drivers license number and the license plate number of your vehicle in order to fill out the permit application.

Note: Student permit renewals begin two (2) weeks before the current permit expires. For more information on renewing a permit purchased via cash or check click here.

Parking permits are the property of the University of Washington and are not transferable. Prorated refunds are available on unexpired permits paid for by cash or check. To stop payroll deduction on an unexpired annual night permit, return the permit to the Commuter Services and sign a stop-deduction form.

Student Night Parking Permits

Any student, who takes night classes on the UW Seattle campus each week, may purchase a Short Term Night Permit that is valid from 4 p.m. until 7:30 the following morning and from 7 a.m. - noon on Saturdays. The permit is marked for the particular nights within those time frames for a given quarter.

For example: If a student is attending a class that's held on Tuesdays & Thursdays, the permit indicates Tuesday and Thursday parking only. The student is charged $1.30 for each class night (rate valid for those purchasing a Short Term Night Permit from Permits Issuance at Commuter Services, not for a gatehouse issued permit). As with all Night Permits, your parking assignment is based upon where your class is held and which lots are available from the Permit Issuance Office. Availability of lots is limited and provided on a space-available basis. Please note that a student may purchase an individual night permit at the current rate into a greater variety of lots from a campus gatehouse, and this price is not the same as a night gatehouse price.

Note: A student purchasing a permit for the first time may do so starting on the first day of the quarter. A renewing permit holder may purchase a permit for the next quarter up to 2 weeks before the start of a quarter.

If you are coming to campus on a night other than those indicated on your permit, you must stop at a campus gatehouse and purchase a permit at the current rate.

Individual night permits

Night permits may be purchased at the current rate on an individual basis at campus gatehouses after 4 p.m. on weekdays. These permits expire at 7:30 the following morning.

Tickets for night parking from dispenser machines

Another night parking alternative is parking in one of the west campus lots, W2, W4, W6, W12, and W14 where "Pay and Display" machines are available for use after 4 p.m. weekdays and on Saturday mornings. The machines accept $1 bills and coins, but do not give change.
