What forms of payment are accepted at campus gatehouses?
You may pay with cash or VISA/MasterCard. Prorated refunds are available for parking less than 4 hours before 4 p.m. or one hour after 4 p.m. (this includes refunds on validation stickers).
Where are the campus entrances?

What are the hours for the gatehouses?
Mon.-Fri., 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sat. 7 a.m.-noon
What do I do if the gatehouses are closed?
Parking is complimentary from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning weekdays and noon Sat. through Mon., 6 a.m. If you arrive before the gatehouses open in the morning, you will need to return to a gatehouse when it opens to purchase a permit.
Are gatehouses closed during school breaks and holidays?
Gatehouses remain open during school breaks, however, they are typically closed during recognized state holidays.
I'm coming to the UW for a meeting, event or lecture, what should I do
and where can I park?
First, refer to the information you have about the activity that will bring you to campus for recommendations. If you are a departmental guest, check to see if your department has arranged parking for you. Special event pricing is often in effect for the Central Parking Garage during large events at Meany Hall. Husky Football games days also charge event fees for the entire campus. Otherwise, stop at any gatehouse to purchase a permit, or use the Montlake E1 lot or the after 4 p.m. self-serve parking lots in west campus.

Why is there a fee for parking?
Fees help pay for the U-PASS, Vanpool, Shuttles and Night Ride programs and for the maintenance, operation and construction of parking facilities.
Why can't I park close to my class?
There are about 12,000 parking spaces on the Seattle campus while up to 60,000 people (faculty, staff, students and visitors) may come to the University each weekday. All parking is assigned on a space-available basis according to a priority system.
Where can I park for 2-5 minutes so that I can drop off a paper, book, etc.?
You may purchase a load zone permit from a gatehouse upon entry to campus. You will receive a prorated refund from a gatehouse when you leave campus. If you park longer than 30 minutes you are subject to a citation.
Can I park on campus evenings and weekends?
Yes. Weekdays from 9 p.m. - 6 a.m. the next day, Friday evenings from 9 p.m. - 7 a.m. Sat. and noon Sat. - 6 a.m. Monday and during University holidays. Check the lot and space signs for restrictions.
Where can I park overnight without needing to move my car?
Students who purchase a Quarterly or Annual Parking Permit have overnight parking privileges. Purchasing a permit from any gatehouse allows parking through the next morning. Also, east campus parking lot E4 has a ticket dispenser machine at the entrance. Parking is available in this lot for up to three calendar days. For multiple days display the tickets together, face up, on your dashboard.
Where do overnight guests (family/friends) park?
A gatehouse issued "Daily Double" permit is available for visiting family or friends who need parking for two consecutive days. Typically, these are for guests arriving on a Friday night or for conference attendees. There is no refund for the Daily Double, and they are not available on football weekends. Parking is assigned as close as possible to a visitor's destination. There is no parking fee between noon Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday.
Is the Golf Driving Range parking free?
No. The parking fee is included in the fee for a bucket of balls.
If my group is planning an event or hosting a guest, what should we do?
If your student organization, school or academic group is hosting a guest or organizing an event contact the Commuter Services Special Events Office to arrange parking and discuss transportation options. Call 206-616-8710 as soon as you set the date for the event.
What do I do if I need disability parking?
Students with long-term disabilities (6 weeks or more) should contact the Disability Resources for Students Office at 206-543-8924. If you have a state disability placard, present it and the confirmation letter to the Disability Resources for Students Office. Commuter Services can issue you a short-term disability parking permit while your request at Disability Resources for Students is being reviewed.
Parking for students with temporary disabilities may be purchased from either Commuter Services office or from any gatehouse. Disability parking costs the same as non-disability parking.
Which parking options allow me to pay by using my Husky CardTM Account?
You can use your Husky Card Account to purchase a Parking Permit from Commuter Services and to pay for carpool parking and self-serve parking such as parking in the E1 lot on Montlake Blvd. north of the IMA.
Gatehouse issued carpool parking requires each person to have a U-PASS and Husky Card Account funds. The fee is split between carpoolers. No cash is accepted for carpools.
You can pay for parking in the Montlake (E1) lot with your Husky CardTM Account. Check your Husky CardTM Account balance and make deposits online at hfs.washington.edu/husky_card. Your Husky CardTM may be used at the southeast, north, or northeast E1 entrances at anytime, but carpools must enter from the southeast entrance only, and each person must use his/her own U-PASS and Husky Card Account.
How do I purchase a student parking permit?
Commuter student parking is available in various campus locations. Dorm students apply for parking permits through their resident hall desks. Commuter students and dorm students (with residence hall approval forms) may purchase parking permits at the beginning of each quarter from Commuter Services. You will need your Husky Card, vehicle plate #/Make/Model/Year. Day and Motorcycle Permits include a complimentary U-PASS. Simply retain the U-PASS sticker included in your registration packet. When you purchase a parking permit, Commuter Services will notify the Student Fiscal Services Office and you will receive a credit for the U-PASS fee that was paid during registration. UW Extension students and students purchasing Short Term Night Permits need to provide their UW ID number and class schedule when purchasing a permit. Payment types: Check, cash, VISA/MasterCard, and Husky Card Account. Sales and city parking taxes included in all fees.
If I leave the UW, what should I do?
If you leave the UW you must return your U-PASS or parking permit for a full or partial refund. Quarterly U-PASSes are not refundable after the first week of the quarter. U-PASS stickers and parking permits are non-transferable and are the property of the University of Washington.

Who is eligible to purchase UW Seattle campus parking & commuting products?
Permanent, temporary/hourly employees, ASEs, and retirees (working at least 3 days per week throughout a quarter) may purchase parking permits, ICTs, U-PASS (or FlexPass) and short term parking permits.
I don't need my car everyday that I work, what products will help me mix up my commute?
Individual Commuter Tickets (ICTs), the U-PASS, the Pay-Per-Use-Parking (PPUP) program and Self-Serve parking options such as the Montlake E1 lot make it easy to take the bus or bike/walk part of the week and drive when you need your car. Some products work in combination with others, for example, ICTs are available to carpool members but not carpool drivers, and the U-PASS comes with a Day or Motorcycle Permit upon request. All other parking product users are encouraged to purchase a U-PASS to use when a car is not needed beyond your initial commute.
What are the benefits of having a U-PASS if I am already purchasing a parking product?
U-PASS holders have lower rates than non-U-PASS holders when used with ICTs, the PPUP program, and especially carpooling. Having a U-PASS saves money and makes it convenient to use public transit options more often rather than driving every day.
Where are parking and commuting products sold?
The main Commuter Services office is located at 3901 University Way NE and is open from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday. Extended hours are usually offered at the beginning of each quarter. The south campus office is located at T466 Health Sciences Building and the hours are 9-11 a.m. and noon - 3 p.m.
When can I purchase products from Parking & Commuting Services Sales Office?
You can purchase most products anytime. The fee will be prorated based on the date of purchase for quarterly and annual products.
Are any parking products sold online?
The only products currently sold online are the annual permits, PPUP program renewal and U-PASSes for faculty and staff. A link to the renewal form is emailed to everyone who has an annual permit, U-PASS or who belongs to the PPUP program who currently use payroll deductions as payment. Departments may download and complete forms for setting up arranged parking, event parking and departmental parking products. The form is then faxed, mailed or taken to Commuter Services for processing.
If I purchase a Day Parking Permit, ICTs or a Carpool Permit, where can I park and what are the rules?

If I am primarily on campus after 4 p.m., what parking options do I have?
You may purchase a Night Permit, Short Term Permit, Night ICTs or take advantage of Self-Serve parking options such as several of the west campus lots which have pay stations in the lots. Gatehouse evening rates are $6 after 4 p.m. as well. If you sometimes come to campus during the day, you may park in the Montlake E1 lot north of the stadium, stop at a gatehouse and purchase daily parking, or purchase Short Term Parking (from Commuter Services) if you come a few times, but not often.
I work at the UWMC and have a Swing Shift. What options are there for me?
You may purchase a Swing Parking Permit good for 2:30 p.m.-8 a.m. Monday - Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. - noon. You may also choose a Night Parking Permit for 4 p.m. - 8 a.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m. - noon. If you need to come in early or work over, you can stop at a gatehouse for a Night Extension.
Are all products refundable if I no longer need them?
All products may be returned for a prorated refund when necessary. It is best to return them in person to ensure that you have returned them safely and that all payments are stopped. If you return an SOV permit and have a complimentary U-PASS, it must be returned as well to stop any payroll deductions (you may purchase a new U-PASS if you need one).
Do I need to return my permit, U-PASS or other products when I leave UW?
Yes, all products are property of the University and need to be returned. If you use payroll deduction payments, you will need to sign a receipt to stop payments or you will continue pay for your product until the expiration date.
