UW Seattle Campus Parking for Vendors and Contractors
Delivery Parking
Parking on or near the University of Washington is extremely congested. Load zones and/or loading docks have been provided for your convenience at many locations. Please note that load zones are time restricted, usually for 30 minutes. Deliveries taking more than 30 minutes must purchase a Daily permit at a gatehouse. Delivery personnel must abide by the following guidelines when driving onto campus:
- Drivers of unmarked delivery vehicles MUST stop at a gatehouse for a parking permit.
- Have purchase order number(s), delivery or packing slip or other ID available upon entry.
- Do not park on campus sidewalks, grounds, or roadways no matter how short a time your delivery may take. Vehicles parked illegally are subject to citation or towing.
Parking for Vendors with UW Service Contracts
For vendors who hold equipment maintenance contracts with the University, more convenient and less expensive parking options are available. These options are available only to personnel who service (maintain) office and/or research equipment at the University. They are not available to personnel making deliveries or sales calls or doing construction work on campus. These parking options include:
- Individual Commuter Tickets for occasional use (these can be used on average no more than twice a week)
- A quarterly (based on a calendar quarter) Parking Permit for use at any time (It can be used every day and is transferable among service vehicles recorded on the permit application.)
Both types of parking permits can be used in conveniently located service parking stalls and in designated lots. These permits may also be used in load zones, but the posted parking time, usually 30 minutes, must be observed.
To purchase either type of parking permit, service contractors should follow the steps below:
- Go to the Purchasing Department at 3917 University Way NE.
- Get a parking permit application card with a Purchasing Department authorization stamp.
- Obtain authorization information and a signature at Purchasing.(This authorization may be valid for up to one year.)
- Fill out the application card and bring it to Commuter Services in the lower level of the Purchasing/Accounting Building at 3901 University Way NE where you can purchase the permit by cash, check or VISA/MasterCard..
