Directions to the UW hospital (University of Washington Medical Center), coming from the south via I-5 northbound

From I-5 northbound, take exit #168B (Bellevue/Kirkland) to State Route 520. Drive about one mile on 520 and take the Mountlake Boulevard NE exit off of 520. Turn left onto Montlake Blvd. and continue north. At the first traffic light after the drawbridge, turn left onto NE Pacific Street, staying in the right-hand lane. Turn right onto NE Pacific Place at the second blue "Hospital patient and visitor parking" sign. Then immediately turn right again into the entrance (Gate #4 on the map) to the Triangle Parking Garage, an underground facility connected via a pedestrian tunnel to the medical center.

Parking in the Triangle Garage

When you drive down the ramp into the Triangle Garage, take a ticket from the ticket dispenser. Keep your ticket with you and have it validated (if you are eligible) before leaving the UW hospital or other medical complex clinic/department. When you return to the Triangle Garage, present your ticket and pay for parking at the Cashier Booth.

Parking in the Triangle Garage is administered by the UW Medical Center (UWMC) and a fee is charged. To ensure sufficient space for all medical complex patients and visitors, multiple rate fee schedules are in effect. In all rate schedules, the parking fee is determined by the length of your stay.

There is a validated rate for UWMC patients and visitors to UWMC patients, another discounted validation rate schedule for other medical complex patients (including Health Sciences and School of Dentistry patients) and visitors, and a third rate schedule for other garage users. Please note: Parking validation can only be processed when a traffic guide is on duty.

Disability parking

If you are mobility impaired, parking for persons with disabilities is provided in the Triangle Garage or the South Campus (S1) Parking Garage. At the gatehouse identify yourself as mobility impaired, purchase a parking permit and obtain any necessary directions. There is no discount for disability parking, but the UWMC parking validation program is available for disabled UWMC patients and disabled visitors to UWMC patients.

To access the S1 garage, go to Gate 6 on Columbia Road which is accessed from 15th Avenue NE. Stop at the gatehouse to purchase a parking permit and get directions.

Please note that the disability parking lot and Gate 7 near the Emergency Room were closed due to construction of the UWMC Surgery Pavilion.
