Directions to Husky Basketball Games when coming from the north via I-5 southbound

What has changed?

A NEW traffic pattern for accessing the $5 (E1) lot has been implemented to better serve fans attending Husky basketball games. Additional staff has been added to more efficiently process cars. Those wishing to park in the less-expensive ($5) E1 lot must use one of the two north entrances to the E1 lot. One of the north entrances is at Walla Walla Road and the other can be accessed from Mary Gates Memorial Drive.

How much does parking cost?

There are two different parking fees in effect. Economical parking that gets you quickly into the parking lot and to the game is located north of the Bank of America Arena in E1 for $5. Parking is also available south of Husky Stadium in E12 for $11. Please have your money ready when you enter the parking area of your choice.

Directions to E1 from the north via I-5 southbound

From I-5 southbound, take the NE 45th Street exit (#169). Turn left onto NE 45th Street. Continue east past the main entrance to the University of Washington at 17th Avenue NE and onto the viaduct. Near the bottom of the viaduct, move into the left lane. Continuing on NE 45th Street, move into the right lane. At the next traffic light (located at the 5-Corners intersection of NE 45th Street, NE 45th Place, and Mary Gates Memorial Drive) turn right onto Mary Gates Memorial Drive. Take the first right onto Clark Road. Proceed west to the NE entrance to the E1 parking lot.

TIP: to avoid traffic congestion use the NE entrance to E1 from Mary Gates Memorial Drive.

Directions to E12 from the north via I-5 southbound

From I-5 southbound, take the NE 45th Street exit (#169). Turn left onto NE 45th Street. Continue about 4/10 mile to 15th Avenue NE and turn right. Head south on 15th Avenue approximately 6 blocks to NE Pacific Street. Turn left onto NE Pacific, staying in the left-hand lane. Continue east to the first left turn option; the road makes a "Y" at that traffic-lighted intersection. Turn left onto NE Pacific Place. Continue a short distance to Montlake Boulevard. Cross Montlake Blvd. and enter at the front of Husky Stadium. Turn right to reach Gate #8.

TIP: Expect heavy traffic congestion from 4-6 pm. When possible, use an alternate route.

Directions to E11 for Disability parking

From I-5 southbound, take the NE 45th Street exit (#169). Turn left onto NE 45th Street. Continue about 4/10 mile to 15th Avenue NE and turn right. Head south on 15th Avenue approximately 6 blocks to NE Pacific Street. Turn left onto NE Pacific, staying in the left-hand lane. Continue east to the first left turn option; the road makes a "Y" at that traffic-lighted intersection. Turn left onto NE Pacific Place. Continue a short distance to Montlake Boulevard. Cross Montlake Blvd. and enter at the front of Husky Stadium. Turn right to reach Gate #8.

TIP: Give yourself plenty of time to get to the game. Expect heavy traffic congestion from 4-6 p.m.
