Lighten Up! Discounted Lights
Did you know that one cyclist a day is killed in this country after dark? 48% of bicyclist fatalities occur after dark even though only 10% of the riding takes place after dark.
Do those reflectors make you visible? They only work if a light shines onto them from the proper angle to create a reflection. The state law requires a white front light visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet and a red reflector on the rear. Use a red light, visible from a distance of five hundred feet to the rear, in addition to the reflector, to increase visibility.
The Wellness Resource Center at Hall Health sells discounted lights for U-PASS holders for $18. Drop by Hall Health Room 213. It's best to call 206.616.8476 before you visit.
