General Information About Parking Services
University of Washington Parking Services is a self-sustaining organization committed to supporting the mission and goals of the University of Washington. It is specifically responsible for managing the university's limited parking resources to meet the varied needs of the campus community, while continually striving to provide outstanding service to its customers. Parking Services is comprised of several units: Permits Issuance, Facilities, Operations, Special Events and Accounting which manage approximately 11,500 parking spaces on the Seattle campus, including several garages. With approximately 30,000 visitors a day, a variety of parking and transit options available make it possible for Parking Services to meet its obligations to the university and to the community.
Parking at UW Seattle Campus
Before parking on campus, stop and purchase a parking permit from one of the following conveniently located gatehouses:
- NE 45th St and Memorial Way by the Burke Museum
- the underground Central Plaza Garage at 15th Ave NE and NE 41st St.
- on Stevens Way by Meany Hall
- on Pend Oreille Rd. off of Montlake Ave NE
- directly in front of Husky Stadium off Montlake Blvd. NE
- and in front of the UWMC on Columbia Rd.
At the gatehouses you will be assisted by Traffic Guides and assigned a parking location according to your destination. Gatehouses are staffed weekdays from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. until noon. At the gatehouse ask for disability parking and building access information as needed.
The daily parking fee is $11/day between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Stop at a gatehouse as you exit campus for a prorated refund if you paid with cash and you were parked on campus less than 4 hours. An evening rate begins at 4 p.m. and is $5/evening. A weekend rate of $5 is also required for parking on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. Campus parking may be paid with cash or a Visa/Mastercard. A Husky Card Account debit is required for all U-PASS carpool parking, and the rate for students, faculty and staff for this type of carpool is 90 cents/day.
Complimentary parking is available weekday evenings from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next morning, and on weekends from noon Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday morning. Parking is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking rules and regulations are enforced at all times on all days. During large events such as Husky football games, a special events fee may be charged in some or all areas of campus. For more information on daily parking fees, see:
http://www.washington.edu/commuterservices/parking/fees_gatehouse.php.
Inexpensive public parking is available daily in the large E1 lot north of the Husky Stadium off Montlake Blvd. NE. for a $5 fee or a $2.78 Husky Card Account debit for the day. Also self-serve pay stations are located in several west campus lots (W2, W4, W6, W12 and W14) for use after 4 p.m. The cost is $4 in exact change. Outlying east campus lots E4 and E3 northeast of the E1 lot off Clark Rd. are $2.50 (exact change only) per day.
Medical Center and hospital parking is managed by the UWMC and is available at the Triangle and Surgery Pavilion Garages off NE Pacific St. For information about UWMC parking fees, validation procedures and valet parking details, see www.uwmedicine.org/Global/Maps/.
Parking Services has two office locations. The main office is located at 3901 University Way NE. Complimentary parking and the office entrance is at the south end (lower level) of the Purchasing and Accounting Building. A second, smaller office is located in the T-Wing of the Health Sciences Building, Room T-466A, and is conveniently located to serve medical, health sciences and other south campus employees and students.
