Historic Japanese photography exhibit at the Henry
The arrival of Commodore Perry in Japan after centuries of isolation coincided with the rise of photography in the nineteenth century. Camera Nipponica: Photographs from Japan, 1880–1930, now on display at the Henry, offers an intimate look at Japan’s photographic—and cultural—history.

New Zealand Forest exhibit opens
First of five eco-geographic forests planned for the Pacific Connections Garden, which eventually will be the largest exhibit of its kind in North America, the New Zealand Forest Exhibit opened with a fanfare on Sunday at the Washington Park Arboretum. Read more details in the Seattle Times.
