Somali refugee experience in Seattle explored
On Monday, March 3, UW African Studies will present “In Search of Nabad”, an intimate documentary by Sorayya Aminian, ’11, about Seattle’s Somali refugees and their search for peace in their new home. Screens at 3:30 pm in the Allen Library auditorium followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.

Burke Museum locates original Seahawks mask
After reading a Burke Museum blog post, the Hudson Museum at the University of Maine contacted them about a British Columbia Kwakwaka’wakw mask believed to be the inspiration for the original Seahawks logo.

Sand Point Open Studios
On Friday, Feb. 21, Master of Fine Art students in the Painting + Drawing Program will open their studio to visitors who would like to see and discuss artworks that are in progress or complete. All are welcome, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

The ninth annual Allen L. Edwards Psychology Lecture Series beginning Wed., Feb. 19 will explore “The Science of Decision Making” to explain how the brain and an individual’s expectations influence decisions.
