According to a new study co-authored by the UW Autism Center, parents of a child with an autism spectrum disorder face a 19 percent chance of having additional children diagnosed with the disorder. Each week, hundreds of at-risk Seattle schoolchildren meet one-on-one with their “Husky Buddies”—teacher candidates from the UW College of Education who are helping prepare them for success in school and life. Read more.
UW student Joe Stout is helping children throughout our community smile more brightly by learning about and providing specialized pediatric dental care. Read more.
Daniel Winterbottom, UW landscape architecture professor, and his students, are creating “healing gardens” at Seattle area health-care facilities to help ease the stress of critically ill people and their loved ones. Read more.
