According to a new study co-authored by the UW Autism Center, parents of a child with an autism spectrum disorder face a 19 percent chance of having additional children diagnosed with the disorder. Husky_Buddies_sm.jpg    Each week, hundreds of at-risk Seattle schoolchildren meet one-on-one with their “Husky Buddies”—teacher candidates from the UW College of Education who are helping prepare them for success in school and life. Read more.

Meet_Your_Neighbor_Joe_Stout.sm.jpg    UW student Joe Stout is helping children throughout our community smile more brightly by learning about and providing specialized pediatric dental care. Read more.

Healing_Garden_1__Winterbottom_sm.jpg    Daniel Winterbottom, UW landscape architecture professor, and his students, are creating “healing gardens” at Seattle area health-care facilities to help ease the stress of critically ill people and their loved ones. Read more.
