CUCAC

City/University Community Advisory Committee (CUCAC):

CUCAC consists of a membership of 16 representatives appointed by surrounding communities and the UW. Their recently adopted bylaws are available. The committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month.

Committee Purpose:

The purpose of the Community Advisory Committee shall be to:

* Advise the City and the University on the orderly physical development of the greater University area;

* Encourage the provision of adequate City services to the University and adjacent community and business areas;

* Assist the University and City in preserving the many positive aspects of the University’s presence in the community;

* Review and comment upon potential adverse effects of removing aspects of University programs from the University campus; and,

* Assist in the protection of the adjacent community and business areas from the adverse effects of University and City actions.

The University of Washington Community Advisory Committee (CUCAC) will meet on Tuesday, May 8, 7:00 – 9:00 PM at UW Tower. Items on the agenda include a discussion of the Maple and Terry Halls pre-design; an update on the UW Police Department Site Selection Process; an update on CURVE (UW/Children’s Housing Project); and a presentation about the University Greenways Project.

The University of Washington Community Advisory Committee (CUCAC) will meet on Tuesday, April 10, 7:00 – 8:30 PM at UW Tower. Items on the agenda include  updates on the Transportation Master Plan and the Office of Economic Development Grant to the U District Chamber of Commerce. Updates will also be presented on University Greenways and projects relating to the Burke Gilman Trail. UW Chief of Police John Vinson will also speak.

The CUCAC meeting scheduled for March 13 has been cancelled because items for the meeting will not be ready until April. Watch this page for the April 10, 2012 CUCAC meeting announcement and agenda items.

Meeting notes from the January 10, 2012 meeting of CUCAC have been approved. At this meeting, Aaron Hoard, Deputy Director of the Office of Regional Affairs, updated members about Building 9 at Magnuson Park, including information about the reuse process for that structure.

The University of Washington Community Advisory Committee (CUCAC) will meet on Tuesday, February 14, 7:00 – 8:30 PM at UW Tower.

Items on the agenda will include a presentation about the Burke Gilman Trail Improvement Project and a discussion of the environmental impact statement for UW Intramural Field Renovation and Relocation.

The University of Washington Community Advisory Committee (CUCAC) will meet on Tuesday January 10,  at UW Tower.

Items on the agenda will include amendments to the University Master Plan associated with the West Campus Student Housing Projects, and an update to the RFQ/C process for Building 9 at Magnuson Park. For more details, please refer to the following PowerPoint presentations:
