Offspring Reffection (DXARTS Thesis)
The Offspring Reflection(working title) is a bi directional kinetic light sculpture. An arm comprised of fluorescent light tubes is suspended from the ceiling. At the end of this arm is a camera on a pair of servos. The arm hovers over a podium which also has two cameras, child cameras, both on their own servos but smaller. Using machine vision, the cameras interact with each other by moving and the light arm flashing. The parent camera is trying to place the children cameras in their respective places while the children mimic their parent, entering entropy in the system. The pulsing of the lights corresponds to the parent cameras desire being met.
