Noise Suppression Research Aircraft
The Noise Suppression Research Aircraft is an aeronautics and astronautics design project in which the acoustic properties of a scaled supersonic transport are studied. 4 microphones will measure noise in a simulation of certification testing in accordance with the regulations in the FAAs FAR Part 36. Data reduction will yield insight into the efficacy of noise mitigation technologies. Acoustics research was accomplished by Chris Ames, Tim Edmon, Breana Merriweather, Kyle Shoun and Rick Smith.
