Voice of Elizabeth Barry
The Voice of Elizabeth Barry is an interdisciplinary history project in theatre biography. Four digital components provide the means to notate, present, and analyze features of Barrys life and theatre career. The first component maps the spatial dimensions of the project with graphics of the built environment, i.e maps(3)of London: 1675-1713, and architectural renderings of four theatre spaces. An economic reconstruction of Barrys life income and expenses grounds the second digital component. The third component organizes the dramatic texts of Barrys theatrical career in HTML webpage format for shared access. The final component analyzes sample texts for word and frequency counts of rhetorical figures of affect as performed by Barry on the Restoration stages.
