Tent City 4 Collaboration
The scope of the project consists of a active collaboration between the citizens of tent city 4, the SHARE/WHEEL organization(s), and the Summer Institute of the Arts and Humanities. Theoretically the project has two trajectories-one is a short film, this application pertains to this particular aspect of the project. Creative control over the said component of the project will be entirely under the control of the SIAH for social research purposes. The second component of the project consists of a photographic installation in the style of documentary for tent city fours fundraiser; any content or material derived or used for this component of the project will be created with equipment provided by the SIAH. The Summer Institute of the Arts and Humanities operates under the leadership of the the Simpson Center, the Univerity of Washington, and the Mary Gates Foundation. It helpful to think of the two trajectories within the project as entirely disparate. The media created for the film project will be used as active research in the concept and action of homelessness as it pertains to transitional housing programs, politics, culture and community.
