experiment in 3-D

I would like to experiment with the 3-D animation
capabilities of After Effects.  My experiment would consist of taking
video footage of actors and objects, then using after effects to
re-interpret the footage into individual, 3-dimensional objects.  I
may also try to familiarize myself with Maya.
