Virtual Community Museum
A grant received by the Libraries and several partners on the Olympic Peninsula enables us to accumulate a 'Virtual Community Museum' of digitizal or digitized cultural artifacts. Over a two year period, about 12,000 digital objects from Native American tribes, museums, libraries, and personal collections will be assembled and published on the web via CONTENTdm. During the Quileute tribe's Elder's Week celebration, staff from the Libraries will assist in gathering audio recordings of Quileute stories and myths as told by tribal members, concurrent with the process of scanning images, photographing artifacts, and shooting digital video recordings.
