Viva la Gaita documentary video

During the final month of my fieldwork in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in
May 2001, NY documentary video director Ken d'Oronzio joined me in
shooting footage for a video about my dissertation topic, gaita folk/pop
music. In collaboration with a Venezuelan producer, we shot over 20 hours
of interviews and performances, and now we are trying to edit the footage
to show at the national Society for Ethnomusicology conference in
Novemeber in Tucson, AZ. (Our proposal HAS been accepted for the
conference, and we are on the program.)

Director d'Oronzio is visiting me in Seattle at the end of June 2004 so we
can edit together.
