Robust Design and Casting Processes

The objective of this research is to impart the concept of robust
design and its techniques in casting and molding processes for one of the
foundries in India. There are lots of minute defects, which are hard to
observe in a typical casting process. The idea is to scan the
high-resolution pictures and related texts showing casting defects and
then applying the ideas of robust design to show the improvements in the
corresponding casting defects.
