Songlines

This project will be part of my MFA thesis exhibition at the CMA
Gallery. 'Songlines' is a piece that explores the idea of language as a
poetic and necessary means to structure new metaphors. The viewer will
interract with a 'landscape' which has photosensors embedded in it. As
they move their body parts or shadows across the landscape, they will
trigger the production of individual phonemes from the English language.
By coordinating their movements, they will be able to produce language
that is familiar or novel, depending upon the arrangement of established
symbols.
