Danielle is a graduate student at the Evans School of Public Affairs and contributes to behind-the-scenes work at the Carlson Center. Among many projects, she provides tools and resources for students to critically reflect on civic engagement. One of the moments that transformed Danielle’s perspective on service was exemplary community strength amongst refugees in Seattle. After moving across the country to work as an AmeriCorps VISTA, Danielle was welcomed by refugee families that had fled their home countries. The power of resilience, resourcefulness, and collaboration is what drew Danielle to stay in Seattle and continue contributing to her new community.
Danielle loves to explore yoga studios in the greater Seattle area and aspires to re-capture her Spanish skills. She welcomes conversations about public service, chocolate, and the many facets of life in the southern states.
