Position description:

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Program Coordinator coordinates all aspects of emergency shelter program housing for a nightly co-ed shelter. They are responsible for directing, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating direct service staff to insure effective delivery of services. The Program Coordinator works with Program Manager to facilitate development and expansion of services and facility. They are responsible for managing for client case plans and goals as well as on-going client assessment and support. Their time is divided equally between direct service and administrative tasks.


ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Peter’s Place is a welcoming space where homeless men and women can find a path out of homelessness. People can seek refuge, meals and basic services as well as connect with case management, entitlements and other benefits, mental health counseling and nursing services. By night, Peter’s Place opens its doors as an overnight shelter for 8 women and 38 men, creating a location for round-the-clock services for homeless men and women in Seattle.

LOCATION: Peter’s Place Program in North Beacon Hill


REPORTS TO: Program Manager




SCHEDULE: Thursday-Monday 3-11:30pm (Plus on-call for emergencies as required)


SALARY RANGE: Within Compass ranges

Skill requirements:



  • A Bachelor’s degree is strongly desired, Master’s degree preferred, ideally in social work or related field, or relevant work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a human services setting with homelessness or supportive housing, mental illness, substance abuse, or domestic violence, strongly preferred.
  • At least 1 years’ experience working as a supervisor or manager, required.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the following evidence-based practices: harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based case management, required.
  • Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
