Position title: Anti-Trafficking Casework Intern 2017

Position description: IRC’s Washington Anti-Trafficking Response Network (WARN) offers support to survivors of human trafficking as they rebuild their lives free from trauma and exploitation. Casework Interns work alongside IRC Case Managers/Advocates to support and access services for survivors. Interns also assist with other duties including case file documentation, scheduling appointments, arranging transportation to appointments, and other related activities. Interns may also participate in outreach efforts aimed at providing access to services to individuals and communities vulnerable to human trafficking. This internship is a great opportunity to gain professional experience in a multi-cultural, social service setting. 

Time commitment: Minimum 6 month commitment. Position begins May or June 2017. 

Skill requirements:
             This internship is for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent college graduates
             Strong intercultural communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and across language barriers
             Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially
             Strong organizational and time management skills
             Ability to work independently and as a part of a team 

Start date: Position begins May or June 2017. 

End date: 6 months from start date
