Position description:

Assistant Teacher (part-time): Small Early Learning Center (NE Seattle) We are a small child care center where a great staff, parents and children all work closely with one another to create a warm environment and community for learning. We are seeking an assistant teacher for our small school located in NE Seattle.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lead Teacher in running homeroom and rotation classes Monday-Friday
  • Assist Lead Teacher in preparing and teaching daily rotations curriculum, as needed
  • Be prepared to step in for Lead Teacher as needed in case of absence or emergency
  • Assist with snack and lunch times
  • Provide safe and effective supervision for groups of students in your care at all times
  • Maintain student cleanliness especially faces, noses, and hands. Assist with clean-up of classroom at the end of the day and as needed
  • Assist Lead Teacher in ensuring each student’s daily work is filed before he/she goes home that day
  • Arrive in your classroom on time, as scheduled, and remain with your students until your shift is over and any remaining students are reassigned

 

Time commitment:

25 hours week

 

Skill requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent 20 Hour Basic STARS training or 2 college credits in Basics of Child Care Introduction to Early Childhood Education
  • CPR/First Aid & Blood Borne Pathogens Certification (within 2 months of hire)
  • Must meet all STARS requirements and know current DEL licensing requirements
  • Minimum 12 months experience working with young children ages (18 mos-6 yrs old)
  • Show verification of required immunizations
  • Agree to Portable Background Check
  • Good communication and a team player attitude
  • Love for early learning and watching kids grow!

We currently have morning floater (9a-1p) and afternoon (1p-6p) available. Compensation DOE.
