Dialing Instructions:

To call another UW extension:

1. Dial [5-digit extension].

To call a local Seattle, Everett, or Tacoma number:

1. Dial [9] [10-digit number].

To call a toll free 800 number:

1. Dial [9] [1] [800] [7-digit number].

To call a long distance number (U.S. and Canada) using UWATS:

1. Dial [77] or [9].
2. Listen for dial tone.
3. Dial [1] [10-digit number].
4. Dial [authorization code].

To call an international number using UWATS:

1. Dial [9] or [77].
2. Listen for dial tone.
3. Dial [011].
4. Dial [country code].
5. Dial [city code] (omit 0 if first digit).
6. Dial [local number].
7. Dial [#]. (NOTE: Do not dial # if international number - excluding 011 - is 12 digits).
8. Dial [authorization code].

To call a long distance number using a personal calling card:

1. Dial [9] [0] [area code] [7-digit number].
2. After the tone, dial [calling card number].

CDT Standard Features:

Call Transfer

• To transfer a call to another extension or outside number:
  1. Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].
  2. Dial the number to where call is being transferred.
  3. Hang up to transfer call, or, if line is busy, press [TAP] or [Recall] twice to return to caller.

Conference Call

• To add a second party to your existing telephone call:
  1. Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].
  2. Dial the number of the party that you wish to add.
  3. Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].

Last Number Redial

• To automatically redial the last number you dialed:
  1. Dial [#9].

CDT Optional Features

Call Forwarding All Calls

• To temporarily redirect all calls to an extension or outside number:
  1. Dial [*72].
  2. Listen for dial tone.
  3. Dial [5-digit number] or [9] [10-digit number].

• To cancel Call Forwarding All Calls:
  1. 1. Dial [*73].

Call Park

• To park an incoming call at your extension (for retrieval at any extension):
  1. Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].
  2. Dial [*53].
  3. Listen for a confirmation tone.
  4. Hang up.

• To return to a call parked at your extension from any other phone:
  1. Dial [*54].
  2. Listen for dial tone.
  3. Dial [5-digit extension number that parked the call].

Call Pickup

• To answer a call ringing at another extension:
  1. Dial [*55] to connect to a ringing call.

Call Waiting
If you hear a beep while talking on the phone, it indicates a second call is waiting.

• To answer a waiting call and to alternate between calls:
  1. Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].

• To turn off Call Waiting prior to making a call that you do not want interrupted:
  1. Press[TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].
  2. Dial [*70].
     NOTE: When you hang up, the Call Waiting feature is re-enabled.

Speed Calling

• To place a call using a personal speed calling code:
  1. Dial [#1].
  2. Listen for dial tone.
  3. Dial [speed code] (1 through 9).

• To program an outside number, extension, or feature code into a personal list:
  1. Dial [*751].
  2. Listen for dial tone.
  3. Dial [speed code] (0 through 9).
  4. Dial the number that you wish to program.
  5. Dial [#].

Voice Mail
Beeps heard before dial tone indicate new voice mail messages.

• To call the voice mail system to retrieve messages:
  1. Dial [211].
  2. When prompted, enter your personal mailbox password.
  3. Follow the menu prompts to retrieve messages.

• To activate immediate voice mail coverage:
  1. Dial [#379].
• 
  
• To cancel immediate voice mail coverage:
  1. Dial [*73].
