Range in Washington: Lower east slope of southern Cascades; southwestward from Tacoma.
Habitat: Oak woodland.
Diet: Herbivore, acorns.
Identification: Large and slate-gray with white belly, tail large and extremely bushy. Total length: 45-60 cm; tail: 25-30 cm; mass: 350-950 g.
Conservation Status: State Threatened; Federal Species of Concern.
