Join the Burke Museum Education and Herbarium staff for this hands-on workshop. Take a guided tour of the UW Herbarium, an international resource for research into Pacific Northwest plants, fungi, lichen, and algae. Learn about the plant collection, one of the largest in the region with over 600,000 specimens, and speak with researchers about the processes used to preserve and study plant specimens. Discover the diversity of plants found in Washington State and sample activities from the Plants of Washington Burke Box. This workshop is most appropriate for Elementary and Middle School teachers.
