As the leaves begin to change color and fall in Seattle, the fifth year of the Magnuson Outdoor Learning Lab is well underway. October included three in-class presentations and three field trips to Magnuson Park with middle school students from Aki Kurose, Madrona, and Alternative School #1. Each field trip included a science experiment on invertebrates and a restoration project to build healthy habitat. Two of the school groups also participated in special, exhibit-based programs at the Burke Museum. The next round of field trips to the park will occur in February, when one of the highlights will be school groups planting native trees and shrubs in their restoration site.
Check out these great photos from our fall programs at Magnuson!
