Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

coherent overview of the fundamental areas of construction management.

An evening certificate program for professionals in a variety of
fields who wish to use the analytical power of geographic information systems
(GIS).
Admission Requirements:
This
program requires a baccalaureate degree and experience in a field such as
planning, engineering, public works, utilities, resource management, commercial
real estate, or branches of business or marketing which require spatial
analysis. Experience with relational
databases, data processing, and/or statistics is required. Experience with
cartography or spatial analysis would be helpful. Direct knowledge of GIS is
not necessary, but applicants should be comfortable with the functions of
computers and software. Each student
must have an e-mail address continuously during the program. In addition,
students must have access to the Web outside of class on an ongoing basis.

Advanced Writing Certificates are offered in three tracks:
Creative Nonfiction, Commercial Fiction, and Literary Fiction. Each nine-month
program consists of three workshops focused on improving participants' craft in
their chosen genre.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants seeking admission to
these programs must have successfully completed the UW Writers'
Program or a comparable program, or have writing experience equal to or
beyond such a level. All applicants must apply to the program. Admission to the
program is competitive, based on writing experience demonstrated by a writing
sample and other application materials. Eligible candidates should have a bachelor's
degree and completed work in their chosen genre, or have substantive drafts or
manuscript work in progress. Those accepted into a certificate program are
expected to enroll in all three courses during the 2001-2002 academic year.

workshops, which meet once a week in the evening starting in October 2001

comprehensive overview of the process of recording music. Students work in
small groups to produce a music recording or an audio-for-video project.
