College of Education:

Certificate program to teach math or science
in grades 6 - 9 [one year]

This program, part of the Strengthening and Sustaining Teachers Project, is for career changers who would like to teach math or science in grades 6 - 9. Graduates will earn Washington State licensure to teach math or science in the middle grades, and a jump-start on a masters degree, which graduates may complete after beginning teaching, if they choose. These graduates will stay involved with the Strengthening and Sustaining Teachings project, as added support during their first 5 years as teachers, which are statistically the most difficult years in the profession.
