Nana Lowell has worked in the Office of Educational Assessment since the early 1980’s and has served as Director since September, 2001. During her years at OEA, Dr. Lowell has worked with faculty and departments on a variety of projects related to the assessment of student learning and evaluation of educational programs. Her particular areas of interest are assessment strategies, course evaluations, survey research, the use of technology in teaching and learning, and data management and analysis. She collaborates on such diverse projects as the development of online database management systems, analysis and reporting of large-scale surveys, and reporting of university-wide assessment initiatives such as those around diversity and inclusion, and student worklife and retention. Dr. Lowell earned her B.S. in Psychology at Seattle University and her Ph.D. in Educational Measurement and Evaluation at the University of Washington.
