This year the Slavic Fest will take place during Washington Weekend, the University of Washington’s all-campus open house. This colorful celebration of the richness of Slavic cultures presents activities all day, with exciting new events added to the list of activities.
12:30 Grand Opening-Stitched with Love
Exhibit of Helene Cincebeaux’s Traditional Costume Collection, covering the rights of passage of the Czech and Slovak people. This vibrant collection of costumes will be on display in Special Collections in Allen Library from April 26th through June 30, 2006. April 29, join us as Helen Cincebeaux does heirloom identification outside Allan Library. At 1:00 p.m. Helen will talk before giving a tour of the exhibit. this beautiful display includes folk costumes decorated with fish scales, or beads and lace.
