We have a full calendar of events and programs every year, and we need volunteers like you to help make it happen! Here are some fun chances to get out and about on campus, meet students and alumni, and help spread Husky spirit.

Working with students
Career mentor program
The UW Office of Minority Affairs and UWAA offer the opportunity for alumni to assist students in developing a better understanding of the world of work and potential career directions.Students in the program are sophomores, juniors or seniors in the Educational Opportunity Program. Mentors are matched with students based on background, interests and occupational field. Finals Bites
Finals Bites is the UWAA's effort to connect with students when they need it most each quarter—on the first night of finals week!The event offers late night snacks such as burritos, pizza, doughnuts, chicken wings, etc., in a side room of Odegaard Undergraduate Library, and affords volunteers the opportunity to meet UW students. -- Detailed job description and alumni volunteer sign-up form
Husky Sundae
At Husky Sundae, the alumni association welcomes students onto campus by serving them ice cream! After they get past their gratitude for the free food, students enjoy meeting one another and alumni.Volunteers assist in setting up and cleaning up the event, serving the students, and helping connect students to each other and to alumni. -- Detailed job description and alumni volunteer sign-up form
First Day Bagels & Coffee
First Day is the alumni association's annual kickoff to the new school year for new and returning students. Volunteers and staffers offer students pastry, coffee, maps and directions as they arrive on campus on the first morning of fall quarter.Because everyone loves free food, volunteers are guaranteed to get face-time with UW students as they provide sustenance and answer questions. -- Detailed job description and alumni volunteer sign-up form
Homecoming Rally
The Homecoming Rally is the alumni association's evening pep rally prior to the following day's Homecoming game. Rallies include the Husky band and cheer squad, refreshments, souvenir giveaways, and Husky merchandise.Volunteers assist with event set-up and clean-up, entrance gate duties, and general alumni association ambassadorial duties. Dawg Dash
Since 1986, the UWAA has presented Dawg Dash, an annual run and walk. The race, which winds through the beautiful UW Campus in the fall, draws over 2,300 students, alumni and friends from throughout the state.Volunteers are needed to work the day of the event, helping with registration, check-in, cheering on the participants, event set-up and clean-up. -- Detailed job description and alumni volunteer sign-up form

Off-campus opportunities
Husky Global Network
Husky Global Network is the alumni association's program of outreach to alumni and friends in the world outside of the Puget Sound region.Regional chapters and "Proud Husky" volunteers coordinate local events and act as a resource for UW alumni and friends in the local area. -- Detailed job description and Proud Husky volunteer procedure
MLK Day of Service
The UW Carlson Center and UWAA offer alumni a chance to make meaningful connections with students while contributing to the Seattle community through the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
On the national MLK Jr. holiday, January 15, you can join fellow UW community members and volunteer to work on one of dozens of projects around the region.
