Volunteer Job Description

Program Description
First Day is the alumni association's way of welcoming new and returning students to the beginning of the new school year. UWAA staff and volunteers offer students pastry, coffee, maps and directions as they arrive on campus on the first morning of fall quarter.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help set up and clean up event
  • Serve coffee and pastries to students, offer maps and directions and answer questions
  • Represent the alumni association
  • Dates and Locations
    First Day is held on the first day of school in the fall quarter (check here for the current UW academic calendar). Two stations are staffed - Red Square from 8 - 11 a.m. and the Montlake parking lot from 7 - 10 a.m.
