Washington Weekend Enters Sophomore Year

If you remember your second year on campus, you might recall a feeling of pride and promise – gone were the freshman jitters, replaced by greater knowledge, ease on campus and a sense of belonging.

Yet, you probably also had a sense of wonder as you walked a route to a new class, saw and heard different things, and realized that you’d only just scratched the surface of what the University has to offer.

And that’s just what our 2nd annual Washington Weekend is all about. Set for April 27-29, it’s a three-campus open house designed to bring Huskies and the community together to celebrate all that is the University of Washington.

Last year’s Washington Weekend drew 15,000 participants to departmental open houses, lectures, tours, luncheons, and arts, sports and social events. This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better, with everything from engineering, health sciences and fisheries open houses to genealogy discussions and the vibrant Slavic Fest. There is something for everyone, including the kids; bring them along and get them excited about becoming future Huskies!

Come enjoy Washington Weekend, and discover the UW all over again.

Visit the newly launched Washington Weekend site for the schedule of events and much more.
