2018 Fall Drive

UWAA and BECU partner for students

2018_Logo_BECU_200With the help of members, BECU has donated a total of $200,000 to support students. That’s just for starters.

Throughout the fall membership drive, BECU, the Seattle region’s largest credit union, matched the dues of UWAA members with a gift to the UW. That’s $50 per regular annual membership, up to $50,000, to support student scholarship programs.

The dues match program began with the 2015 fall membership drive, and thanks to the strong response by new and renewing members during that drive, BECU donated the full match fund amount. We have repeated the feat each year since, raising a total of $200,000 for students.

Additionally, BECU partners with the UW Alumni Association for Dawg Dash, one of the UWAA’s signature scholarship fundraisers, which brings thousands of runners and community members to campus. They also provided a $20,000 matching gift to the Multicultural Alumni Partnership, which just celebrated reaching its goal of building a $1 million scholarship endowment.

Since 2008, the UWAA and BECU have been partners in support of the UW through affinity card programs, financial literacy seminars, scholarships and more. As two nonprofit organizations with strong ties to the local community and a strong focus on member satisfaction, we’re proud to stand together.

Thank you, members, and thanks BECU!
