China Huskies

The UW in Shanghai this November

There is a direct connection between the University of Washington’s pursuit of innovations and discoveries, and Seattle’s rise as one of America’s fastest growing and most technologically savvy regions. The impact of UW research is quantifiable — $1.4 billion a year — but our nurturing of innovation and creativity in our students provides even greater impact. The UW in Shanghai is an opportunity to celebrate these achievements and spur new ones.

Three notable events will take place in Shanghai this November:

  • Innovation Summit, Nov. 13: UW innovators will show how they are turning ideas into impact, connecting academia to industry and helping solve the world’s most pressing problems. UW President Ana Mari Cauce and industry partners will also speak.
  • Pac-12 China Game, Nov. 14: A historic regular-season basketball game between the UW Huskies and the University of Texas Longhorns, the first regular-season game ever hosted by a U.S. league in China. Broadcast live in the U.S. on ESPN, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT
  • UW Alumni and Friends Reception, Nov. 14: The first all-Asia reception where UW alumni and friends may reconnect with old friends, learn about the UW’s latest achievements and network with Huskies from around the world.
