UWAA Student Scholarships & Grants
Tuition is pricey and can take years to pay off. So why not take advantage of all the scholarships available at the UW, including those offered by the UWAA?

Student Scholarships—Awarded by the Office of Financial Aid
Alumnae Board Scholarship
Who: This scholarship is open to incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
What: This is a full-tuition scholarship awarded annually to one student.
How: The Alumnae Board selects a scholarship winner based on scholastic achievement, financial need, leadership, community service and personal statements. A few finalists will be asked to interview with the Alumnae Board.
When: The application process for the 2013-2014 UWAB Scholarship is currently closed. Thank you for your interest in our scholarship. Please check back in winter 2013 for the 2014-2015 application.
2013 Homecoming Royalty Scholarship
Who: This scholarship is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors and graduate students.What: This awards a $1,000 scholarship.
How: Finalists will then be selected and interviewed by a committee of representatives from the UW campus and community.
When: The 2013 Homecoming Royalty scholarship application deadline is October 4, 2013. Thank you for your interest in our scholarship. Please check back in August for the 2013 application.
UWAA Legacy Scholarship
Who: This scholarship is available to undergraduates including transfer students, but not current degree holders, who will be enrolled as full-time students in Fall 2013. Students must have a parent or grandparent who holds a degree from the University of Washington and is a current member of the UW Alumni Association.
What: This scholarship program offers three $2,500 awards each year.
How: The UW Alumni Association offers this scholarship to encourage and support children and grandchildren of alumni to continue the UW legacy in their families. Funds for these scholarships come from select UWAA event proceeds and private donations. Recipients are selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, leadership activities, community service and financial need. These are "one-time" awards and are not automatically renewed for the subsequent year, although students are welcome to reapply.
When: The 2013-14 Legacy scholarship deadline is March 29, 2013. Recipients will be notified by May 1. If you have not received a notification by this date, we encourage you to apply next year.

Remo S. and Sheila A. Galvagno Scholarship
Who: This scholarship is available to undergraduate juniors and seniors, including transfer students, but not current degree holders, who are residents of Washington state and enrolled as full-time students for Fall 2013. The award is designed to support students who have balanced academic achievement and leadership with a strong work ethic.
What: One in-state, full-tuition scholarship per academic year.
How: The Galvagno family and Air Van present this scholarship opportunity in partnership with the UW Alumni Association. Students are selected on the basis of their personal statement, scholastic achievement, leadership activities, community service and financial need. Awards are not automatically renewed for the subsequent year, although students are welcome to reapply.
When: The 2013-2014 Galvagno scholarship application deadline is August 30, 2013.

Registered Student Organization Funding
Who: This funding is available to all Registered Student Organizations registered with the Student Activities Office.
What: The University of Washington Alumni Association (UWAA) Fund for Registered Student Organizations has been created to allocate money to support the on-campus events, programs, and activities of Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). The Fund is intended to support the ability of RSOs to enrich campus culture, foster student empowerment, and enhance community impact. The funding is distributed through the Student Activities Office.
How: Any Registered Student Organization may apply on the Student Activities Office website. Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Multicultural Alumni Partnership (MAP) Endowed Scholarship
Who: This endowed scholarship is available to continuing UW students with at least one quarter of study at the UW.
What: MAP will award up to five partial scholarships at its Bridging the Gap Breakfast on Homecoming Saturday each year.
When: The MAP Scholarship application is currently closed. Thank you for your interest in our scholarship. Please check back in summer 2013 to apply.
UW Young Alumni Club Scholarship
Who: This scholarship is available to incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
What: This scholarship is based on annuities from our endowed scholarship fund. Scholarships will vary, but currently run around $1,200, based on financial need.
Requirements: You must apply for financial aid to be eligible. If you are eligible, you will be invited to apply after having filled out a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid). The FAFSA must be filed before Feb. 28 each year for the next academic year.
When: Application deadlines occur quarterly.
