I am currently one of the College and Career Readiness Assistant (CCRA) Coordinators as well as a Steering Manager. Last year I was a CCRA at Auburn High School and have been a mentor at both Auburn and Kent-Meridian High Schools. Outside of Dream Project, I will be starting an internship with UW Athletics’ Green Team in January.

I first joined the Dream Project in the winter of my freshman year for the sole reason of getting an extra two credits (let’s be honest, the lawn signs are what did it for me). But I stayed in this program because I truly care about each and every student we work with.

Growing up in Long Beach, California, it is easy for a lot kids in the area to follow what all of their friends are doing and get into trouble. All of this is usually without anyone really there to let them know that they are capable of so much more. I was thankful enough to have the wonderful support and encouragement of my family, but I know that isn’t the case for everyone.

I had always hoped that there was something more Long Beach could do as a community to make sure all students had the support and encouragement they needed. Dream Project and the community these schools are in are able to do just that. Seeing how passionate students are and all the amazing things they do is what drives me. It makes the four years in the Dream Project worth it all.
