Can I choose how much personal information I share?
Absolutely! This is one of the best features of HuskyConnect. Just click on My Profile, then edit your Career or Contact Information. When you click "Save" (even if you don't change any of the information), you'll see a grid of all the privacy settings for your data. For each piece of data, you can choose whether to display it, and to whom. You can share as much or as little as you want.
In accordance with the University's policy on alumni directory information, the basic information that is reported for all UW alumni is the person's name, class year, degree and major.
Can other people in the community see my e-mail address?
You can control whether others can see your e-mail address. You do this by editing your contact information privacy settings. You can allow people to contact you even if you choose to hide your e-mail address.
I only want certain people to be able to contact me. How can I block a particular person from contacting me?
Search for the person and click on his/her name. Underneath the name, you will see "Block User." Click on that link: that individual will be unable to contact you in any way. The link will now read "Unblock User." Clicking on it again will restore that individual's ability to contact you.
