Set group category and location by editing group description
Edit group permissions to control access
The group administrator can designate one or more group moderators
I created a Group but now want to change the category it is listed under.
You can do this if you are the administrator of the group. Find your way to your Group's home page (it should be listed on your HuskyConnect home page in your "My Groups" box; or click on Groups Tab/Find). In the left menu, click "Admin." Then click on "Description" in the Group administration tool bar - once on the description page you can click "Edit" and alter your listing, including changing the Group's category.
If we set up a group on HuskyConnect is it possible to have a group listed in both in a category AND a region?
Yes.
- Find your way to your Group's home page
- In the left menu, click "Admin" (only available to Group administrators)
- In the Group administration tool bar, click "Description"
- On the Group's description page, click "Edit"
- Once on the description page you can select a "Region" as well as specify a Group category.
How are HuskyConnect groups moderated?
Each group has an administrator and one or more moderators. Generally the person who creates the group is the administrator, but administrator duties can be transferred to someone else. The group administrator can assign or revoke moderator privileges to one or more group members, can remove members completely from the group, and can shut the group down, deleting it from HuskyConnect. The administrator and moderators can always view all group content and create new group content. Group members who are not moderators may not be able to create new group content, depending on the permissions assigned by the administrator.
Can I create a private group on HuskyConnect?
Groups can be "open" or "restricted." Any HuskyConnect member can join an open group, and no administrator approval is required. If a group is defined as restricted, only the administrator can approve adding someone to the group. Only members of the group can post messages, create photo albums or create events in the group. Any HuskyConnect member can see that a restricted group exists, and can request access, but the group administrator can control whether group messages, photo albums and events are visible to only group members or to the entire HuskyConnect community. The group administrator can set whether any group member can post messages, create albums or add events, or only moderators.
