Dawg Dash
Kick start Homecoming week with the 23rd annual Dawg Dash. Dawg Dash is more than just good for your body, it’s good for the UW student body. Each year, the 10K run and 5K run/walk through the scenic UW campus raises at least $10,000 for scholarships for UW students. For more info or to register visit www.dawgdash.com.

UW Pride in 5
Prove you're the ultimate Husky fan by capturing your Husky fever on video in five seconds or less. Three winners will be awarded cash prizes and have their videos shown on the Huskytron during the Homecoming game.

Engineering Lecture Series
Show your Husky pride at your next cocktail party: Spend and evening at the UW Engineering Lecture Series and you’ll be able to talk robots. During “Where Humans and Robots Connect” Yoky Matsuoka, associate professor, computer science & engineering, and director, of the University of Washington Neurobotics Lab—a 2007 MacArthur “Genius” award winner—will talk about her quest to build the ultimate prosthetic: A fully functional replica of the human hand, controlled directly by the brain.

Working at the UW: Alumni Open House
Meet informally and network with fellow alumni who are working at the UW. In addition, staff from UW Human Resources will be on hand to discuss the benefits of working at the UW, the online application process, and some of the units and types of positions for which there is the greatest demand for qualified candidates.

Governor issues "Purple and Gold Day" proclamation
Washington State Governor and UW alumni Christine Gregoire has proclaimed Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, as "Purple and Gold Day" in the Evergreen State. "I urge all citizens to don purple and gold in honor of this world-class institution and its positive impact on our local, state, national and world communities," says Gregoire, a 1977 UW graduate. The governor's proclamation will be officially announced at the UW Alumni Association’s annual Homecoming Rally, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. in Red Square.

Homecoming Rally
Every year, on the night before the Homecoming football game, “Red Square” bleeds purple and gold. Come to the rally for for a pep talk from Coach Willingham, a performance by the Husky Marching Band, food, fun giveaways, Husky cheer and camaraderie.

Alumnae Board Tailgate Scholarship Fundraiser
Prior to the Homecoming game, Alumnae Board volunteers and scholarship recipients will be roaming the popular tailgating areas outside Husky Stadium, collecting donations for their full-tuition scholarships. Look for the white buckets!
Homecoming Game vs. Oregon State
It’s Washington vs. Oregon State in the UW’s annual Homecoming game. Don your purple and gold and cheer on the Dawgs as they battle the Beavers for Pac-10 bragging rights.

Homecoming Royalty Scholarships
Between the first and second quarters of the Homecoming game, on the field at Husky Stadium, join us in congratulating this year’s Homecoming Royalty and Court, as chosen by their peers. Royalty will receive $1,000 scholarships from the UWAA.
MAP Breakfast
Another longtime Homecoming tradition, the Multicultural Alumni Partnership Bridging the Gap Breakfast, celebrates diversity at the UW and in our community. Join us as we honor past and present Distinguished Alumni Award and scholarship winners.
