Adam Summers, ssociate director of the UW Friday Harbor Laboratories and associate professor in the department of Biology and in the School of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences.

Join fellow SoCal Huskies and friends for a lecture by a marine biology expert, followed by an exclusive tallship tour! Your morning begins with a fascinating lecture by Adam Summers, associate professor in the department of Biology and in the School of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences. Among his many accomplishments, Summers provided animation company Pixar expert advice on fish movements for the movies “Finding Nemo” and “Finding Dory.”

After a post-lecture question and answer session, enjoy a private tour of the tallship Pilgrim, a full-sized replica of the hide brig immortalized in the American seafaring classic novel “Two Years Before the Mast.”

Want to dive deeper? We’ve just added a bonus event to the day! The Ocean Institute invites guests to lunch and a whale watching cruise at a deeply discounted rate. Climb aboard the R/V Sea Explorer to view the whales and dolphins that make the coastal waters of Dana Point their home.
