Portland lunch and learn: Helping families thrive with cancer, not just survive

Tues. April 28, 2015      12-2 p.m.

The Multnomah Athletic Club

pdx-l+lFamily members often struggle to adjust when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer. UW School of Nursing professors Frances Lewis, ’68, and Amy Walker are innovating approaches to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families.

In her research at the UW, Lewis trains health care providers in evidence-
based interventions to improve quality of life, symptoms, and adjustment of adults with cancer and their families, while Walker focuses on improving health for adolescent cancer survivors and their siblings and parents.

Join us for this next installment of our popular Portland Lunch and Learn series to hear from these leading researchers and connect with fellow Huskies. A networking reception will follow the presentation.

Cost: UWAA members – $15; non-members – $20

Lunch is included with admission. Vegetarian lunch option available upon request.
