Golden Graduates Brunch

Sat. June 2, 2018      10 a.m.–12 p.m.

HUB North Ballroom

In celebration of enduring Husky connections, the UWAA cordially invites Huskies who graduated 50 or more years ago to this special event.

Share memories over brunch with the UW’s most distinguished group of alumni — you. Along with delicious food, friendly company and signature cocktails, you’ll hear from UWAA Assistant Vice President Grant Kollet and enjoy a performance from student musical group Stage Notes.

Together, we’ll welcome the Class of 1968 as the newest members of the Golden Graduates community and honor Vivian Lee, ’58, ’59, the 2018 Golden Graduate Distinguished Alumna.

UWAA members: $30
General admission: $35

Registration is now closed. If you’d like to attend, contact the UWAA at 206-543-0540 by 5 p.m. on May 31.

Vivian O. Lee’s list of accomplishments is staggering. She was the first African American student to be admitted to the special accelerated bachelor’s degree program in nursing in 1955, the first African American RN hired at the Seattle Veteran’s Administration Hospital and the first African American hired by the U.S. Public Health Service, where she became director of the first federal regional office on women’s health in the nation. Lee co-founded  the first UWAA club focusing on diversity, the Multicultural Alumni Partnership (MAP).
