Dan Evans, ’48, ’49, first entered public service as a state representative in 1957. He would flourish over the next five decades, and so would the state he served—as governor, as president of Evergreen State College, as U.S. Senator and in many other capacities. On Oct. 10, the UW will honor its 2007 Alumnus of the Year and his wife, two of the most beloved and influential public figures in state history, with a special celebration in the HUB Ballroom. “Daniel J. & Nancy Bell Evans: 50 Years of Leadership and Service” begins at 7 p.m., and is free and open to the public. A television crew will be on hand to tape a segment of the show “KCTS Connects.” Visit <UWalum.com> for more information, and to register. Also See "Engineer of Change", June 2007. |
