Huskies Could Face Toughest Schedule in Nation Print

Many experts consider the Huskies’ 2007 football schedule the nation’s toughest. The 13-game slate features a powerful non-conference foursome—Syracuse, Boise State, Ohio State and Hawaii—plus top-ranked Pac-10 opponents including USC, California, UCLA and Oregon.

For fans there is one consolation. All three of the UW’s games against BCS bowl teams from last season (Boise State, Ohio State and USC) come at Husky Stadium.

“If you look at our schedule, the first thing that jumps out at you is that it’s a challenging schedule,” says Head Coach Tyrone Willingham, who coached the team to a 5–7 record in 2006. “It’s an opportunity. It’s a challenge. It’s exciting. It’s time to step the game up.” He adds, “athletes like playing big-time football games.”

The UW Alumni Association will hold Washington Warm Ups—our traditional pre-game rally—at all away games this season. See <UWalum.com> for the latest information on times and places or for TV viewing parties in your locality.
