Jackson’s ties to the West Coast include one season as an assistant at Stanford and five seasons at UCLA as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Coach Kathy Olivier. A 1995 graduate of the University of Iowa, Jackson played for C. Vivian Stringer, the first coach to lead three different schools to the NCAA Final Four. Jackson was honored as an all-Big Ten Conference selection twice and spent one year in the WNBA playing for the Phoenix Mercury. Jackson replaces June Daugherty, whose contract was not renewed. In her 11 seasons as the UW women’s basketball coach, Daugherty compiled a 191–139 (.579) record. She is now the head women’s basketball coach at WSU.
