Fall Football Features More Warm Ups Than Ever Print

Summer is here—or, as Husky football fans like to call it, “almost fall.” And that means it’s time to start making plans for Washington Warm Ups, the UW’s official pre-game rallies at away football games. This will be a season of firsts for Washington Warm Ups, with more events than ever—six in total—at locations across the country and even across the water. That’s right: the Huskies will be playing at Hawaii and Syracuse for the first time in ages, and the UWAA will be out in force at both games. This year will also mark the return of the old, a la carte format, in which fans pay a lower cover charge that includes admission, one drink ticket, a souvenir button and a fun giveaway. Food and additional beverages may then be purchased inside. Advance registration is highly recommended and if you are a UWAA member, it will save you $5. Walk-ups are welcome, but admission at the door may be limited.  So visit UWalum.com and get your tickets today.

Husky Desert Classic, Oct. 12 in Phoenix
This fall will also see the revival of the Husky Desert Classic, a popular golf tournament for UW fans and friends held the Friday before the Arizona State game in the Phoenix area. Learn more and register at UWalum.com.

Kickin’ Buttons
Hey there, witty word-wizards. We need your help coming up with clever, team-specific slogans for the souvenir buttons we’ll be giving away at Washington Warm Ups. Past winners include “Duck, Duck, Lose!” (for the Oregon game), “Dawg is my co-pilot” (Air Force) and “You’ll always be Wazzu to us” (WSU). Prizes will be awarded for all six winning entries. Visit UWalum.com/football to submit yours by Aug. 1.
