Huskies Celebrate Across the Nation Aug. 12–14

Every summer, the salmon return to Laguna Beach — specifically, to the Orange County UWAA chapter’s annual salmon barbecue. And soon thereafter, the hungry Huskies descend.

All over the country, UW alums will be coming together August 12–14 for fellowship and celebration—and, in many cases, some good food. The Laguna Beach cookout is one of more than a dozen regional parties already planned for Husky Summer Weekend. Now in its second year, it’s a chance for proud Huskies to connect and catch up, no matter where the years since graduation may have taken them. Have a picnic. Organize a softball game. Caravan to a concert. Last year’s 33 events included a golf-and-dinner party and a private sailing excursion on a 102-foot cargo schooner.

Other 2005 events are currently planned for Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere. There will also be a couple on the Seattle campus. For more information about Husky Summer Weekend happenings, or to set one up in your area, visit UWalum.com or call 1-800-AUW-ALUM. All events must be confirmed by June 10.
